The Glistening Diamond

It blazed across the sky like a shooting star, lighting up the countryside for miles around, trailing behind it a tail of brilliant blue light. People gazed nervously out of their bedroom windows, marvelling at the beautiful and mysterious object hurtling by.

In the morning, as the dust began to settle, it became clear what had fallen from the heavens… The diamond was vast! It was the size of a fully grown, adult blue whale. Glistening in the morning sunlight, the diamond reflected powerful beams of blinding light in all directions like a lighthouse.

Crowds began to gather…

The Behemothic diamonds started to burn the city with beams of heat, my Dad started to shout “let's get out of here!” The people started running and screaming. People were constantly calling 111. When the firemen came they started turning on hose’s  but it was no use, the colossal beams were too strong. Mum picked Maya up and started running, for the beam started hitting the house. Dad  and I sprinted out so swiftly that I almost fell over.

People started screaming “what are we going to do” and “ the end times are here” (well that’s what the crazy people said). A strange man crawled onto a large part of a broken building. He stood up and opened his mouth. “People please, lend me your ears, we can stop this diamond if we not believe in ourselves, but each other.”

The people began to think. one person put his hand up and said  “what if we built a machine that could shoot so much water that it could rid the land of fire." The people nodded. “You people can do this while we come up with a way to destroy the Diamond,” said the captain of the firemen. So they started getting to work. The people started collecting water while my Dad and some others started constructing a device.The firemen and police were smashing the diamond with pickaxes made of the strongest metals. They had special suits on so they wouldn't get burnt, but they still felt super hot and sweaty.

In time the diamond started cracking and the people were spraying water at the the fire’s. The people noticed a black helicopter. It had a large net underneath. Suddenly the net fell on the diamond. It had green laser fences in the gaps.  The diamond started to crack at an enormous speed . Pieces started falling and the diamond fell apart. “Thank you mysterious agents!” shouted a cop.In the end, each person was given a piece of the diamond as a reward. The people were happy, or where they?
